Privacy Policy
This page explains what data HootZen collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We've written it in plain English. If anything is unclear, email hello@hootzen.app.
Who we are
What we collect
- Account info — your email address, name (optional), business name, and anything else you type into HootZen.
- Invoice + customer data — the invoices and customer details you create inside HootZen. This stays inside your workspace.
- Files — logos, signatures and other uploads you provide. Stored on Vercel Blob.
- Technical metadata — IP address, browser type, page views. Used for security + basic analytics.
What we don't collect
We don't collect or store payment-card data — HootZen doesn't process payments directly. We don't use third-party advertising trackers. We don't buy data from data brokers, and we don't sell yours.
Where your data lives
HootZen runs on Vercel. Your primary database is a managed Postgres instance hosted in the Asia-Pacific (Singapore) region. Backups are taken automatically by our database provider. Uploaded files are stored on Vercel Blob storage.
Who we share data with
We share data only with infrastructure providers who help us run HootZen:
- Vercel — hosting and serverless compute
- Neon — managed Postgres
- Resend — magic-link + invoice email delivery
- Vercel Blob — file uploads
We do not share your data with advertisers, marketing platforms, or data resellers.
Your rights
You can, at any time:
- Export your data as CSV + PDF from inside the app
- Delete your account and we'll erase your workspace
- Request a copy of all data we hold on you — email hello@hootzen.app
- Correct anything that's wrong
Cookies + auth
We use session cookies for authentication only. Magic-link sign-in means we don't store passwords at all. No tracking cookies, no third-party analytics cookies.
Children
HootZen is a business tool, not for users under 18. If we learn that we've accidentally collected data from a minor, we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and email beta users about anything material. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the current version.
